what does vzw do about dust under the screen. I have a little and it seems to be getting worse. Is. It worth wiping and reloading .148 and going and try getting a replacement.

Vzw has replaced 2 storms for me for dust. One was actually a brand new one out box and already had dust. They do say though that dust is not part of warranty replacement. As far as the OS, I have put the official back on when returning storms. I hope this helps.

Yeah they replace the phone, sometimes they might give you a little bit of a hard time (depends on the person who's helping you) but they replace it. Just say like you're unhappy customer and with At&t you would never have the same problem lol ...

Is there a write up on cracking the 95x0 open so I could remove the dust?

I was denied by Customer service because of my dust. I have spots all over my screen. I'll be taking it to Vzw on Wednesday to get my S2.

I finally went down to VZW on Thursday and the tech guy gave me a little grief and said that they all get dust under the screen but he finally agreed to send me a replacement.

Wouldn't the dust be a "user issue"? I mean all phones get dust under the screen.

I used to carry mine in a holster and it was perfect. I switched a month or so back to a rubber case and just threw it in my pocket. It wasnt until then that the dust started. needless to say I am back to my holster.

If the screen were properly sealed, it wouldn't get dust in the area we're referring to. It's between the glass layer for the capacitive touch and the actual LCD panel. It's very annoying when trying to use the device in the sunlight.

Let me see if I can find anything for you. Usually parts for phones are available online and one good place is horizon wireless.

    Smile

Thanks, but my problem is that I live in Mexico, and I did not find the screen here, but Tucson and Phoenix, AZ is just 3 hours from here
If I can find a place there I can take my BB there.

I undertand that, but I've never had one phone where it didn't get dust under the screen. I mean you put it in your pocket, you bound to acquire some dust in there. That shouldnt be a reason to get a new phone.

Mine is gettin' pretty dusty these days despite me being pretty pristine with it. Everything else about it is so perfect though...no software issues, clicks perfectly (after much modding lol) that I'm reluctant to get it replaced.

Wow I didn't know it was like that! I thought people were talking about just between the 4 edges! I was like "quit being a buch of sissies!!!" but now I see what the problem is! That sucks for people who have that issue and they wont replace!

Mine hand a pretty big piece of dust right in the middle of the screen. It was about the size of the tip of a ball point pen, and a bunch of smaller dust pieces. I was fine. With the liTtle pieces but the big piece realky got to me.

As a. Side note. The replacement thhey se t me has the best screen click I've ever felt.

I just got mine replaced for dust as well. I have the Asurion plan, but I went to a VZW store and they replaced it w/o issue. I'm expecting it to arrive today. Like another poster stated, right in the center were noticeable chunks of dust and in the sunlight it was horrible all over. I hope the S2 doesn't have these same issues because I'd like to move to it eventually.
