Thread: -FIX- BlackBerry Storm not detected as a USB Mass Storage Device when connected

I had to replace my Storm a few days ago due to a faulty speaker and the replacement Storm would not connect to my computer as an additional drive. It would connect thru DM and BBSAK just fine, but I could not access info on the SD Card. Went back to the store w/my laptop and 2 more FRU's would not work BUT 5 other Blackberry's as well as the techs would connect just fine. Long story short, a tech from RIM sent us this link, View Document and as soon as I ran it my Storm worked just fine. FYI, this problem happened on 4.7.0.148, 5.0.0.230 as well as 5.0.0.238H reguardless of how it was installed/wiped etc. I hope this can help anyone if they are experiencing this issue.

I wish I knew about that a couple of weeks ago. Same thing happened to my refurb and it drove me nuts not being able to download my Grateful Dead to my Storm. At least Verizon sent me another one and no issues since.

my question is why does it not connect to the desktop program or it takes me a few times to try to connect before it actually connects any one know or have had this problem>?

Have you tried a battery pull? Really could be any number of things.

Had the same problem on that past 2 9530's (that actually made it home), thanks for the info.

Thanks for the tip...my device had the issue and I just worked around it, but it is nice having access to the SD card again.
