I haven't noticed what your talkin about, but I did notice a new small icon in addition to the regular one... Its for the groups! Its really small and it looks like one person in front of two others! If your part of a group... That might be what your seeing!

I only see it in my bbampd theme. Not the default or my Blak series. Dunno why????

What I have tried to fix.
- Batt pulls
- Installing and reinstalling BBM 5.0 from both app world and OTA provided
- 6 different themes...not all mine
- Install and re install of themes
- changing icon setting in advanced options to all available choices
- resetting the default arrangement
- Sending service books ? just for kicks
- Hiding/ unhiding the icon
That's all I could think of. Next step is a reload of the OS, then BBM 5.0 and then themes I guess. I don't want to go through that before the weekend so I hope someone can help with a fix before then.

I've tried 4 themes, reloaded all of them and still have a small icon.
So if some of us have this and some of us dont there has to be a setting or program we have that is interfering with the display of this. What is very interesting is that Nate gets it with some themes and not with others presumably with the same programs installed and same settings. I cant get any theme I've tried to work.
OK so I decided to run apploader for kicks and it showed that it was going to load core apps etc. I did notice that it said it needed to remove BBM (the one in the core apps) but have the installed 5.0 still there.
Still the small icon :(
Maybe this is a harbinger than future builds will feature smaller icon tiles..... Perhaps to make the UI appear slightly more iPhone-ish? Instead of touching, they'd be spaced out a little. Even though we haven't figured out WHY it happens, perhaps it's just a hidden feature popping up. Then again, we're talking RIM OS here, so it very well COULD be a bug.
