When you are ready to restore, open your DM and go to Backup and Restore and choose Advanced. Another window will open with two panes, the one on the right is what's on your device the one on the left should be empty. At the top of the left pane is a link named file, click that and it will open a window where you backup should be. Chose your backup and click open. Now the pane one the left will populate and you can chose waht you want to restore. Once you select what tou want to restore use the arrow button between the panes to move it to your device.

Do you know the name of the file that restores the calender events?

Edit: Never mind, the back up I was trying to restore my calender from oddly only had 3 events ... I had to use a backup from a few days ago to get them all back.
