Thread: Activation Issues

Just installed hybrid 3 and trying to complete enterprise activation. On the storm screen itsays "waiting for services..." and seems to be hung up there. I successfully installed and activated with hybrids 1 & 2 and did nothing different (that I am aware of) during this install. Any ideas? Is this an OS issue or enterprise issue?

More than likely it is an enterprise issue, I am on bes and have no issues.

Does the Enterprise Activation show at 0%

Are you doing it wirelessly or through the DM

If at 0% pull your battery, leave out for 1 minute and reinstall. Enterprise Activation will automatically begin again

Doing it wireless. After about 20 minutes finally received a failure notice. Must be something with BES.

It is possible the password expired and you may need to have your BES admin reset the password. Unless you can activate through the DM at the PC that your corp Outlook resides and it is enabled to do it that way.

i reset the activation password, verified the email address is correct. when activating my BB screen reads the following:

"Verifying encryption...
Encryption verified.
Waiting for services..."

That's as far as it goes. The i get the failure notification and to contact the system administrator.

That is the same error I received, then I had the bes admin reset it and away I went.

I also had them set it up so I could activate through the DM since I load so many OS's and didnt want to keep bugging them

I am my own BES admin so I don't mind resetting passwords.... but it also means I don't know what the heck i'm doing all the time either! I'm giving it another go now. If no luck I may try reinstalling hybrid 3 to see if that helps. I did just instll the service pack 2 for the BES. Wonder if that may be causing the problem. activation with hybrids 1 & 2 went very smooth, and those were with service pack 1.

Do you have the PC that you have your software installed in it? it happend to me and i activated with the USB was ok. but not Wirelessly. I know it doesnt make sense but that was the issue

the BES is on my small business server at the office. DM is on my laptop with me at the house. I could try it on Monday but if it doesn't work tonight I may go back to hybrid 2 until I can get it figured out.

Another options that also helps is to resend your service books, Set up/ Email Settings/ bb button/service books/ resend books.
Once you have received the notification that you got them, pull your battery again and leave out for 60 seconds then reinstall. If that does not work you may have to reset the password

NO no trust me i did the same thing ! DO NOT go to Hybrid V2 i have been trying all the softwares been 2 weeks. Trust me the BEST till now is the V3 and it will work with the US BES server activation. Can you try to remove the BATT put back Unlock the phone then to activate again? When you go to enterprise actiuvation do you see a RED lock? if yes then you need the PC . if not then you can wirelessly

bbcrackman that should be done from the BES server since he is on BES right? Just an FYI

Desktop sync,OTASL,MDS, IPPI, CMIME,BBIM, ALP and the CICAL are all stored in your service books as well. By resending service books it can jump start the Activation if you are having issues with the sync. If it is unsuccessful then Yes it needs to be done from the BES.

Ahh a little slow had some fights @ CB im not heading no more there. bunch of kids and disrespectful people. So i'd rather stick here with teh pro's
