    Memory cleanup

How much memory are you running on your storm at startup?
Post your memory, themes and apps and we will help you clear some memory up.

    Here goes.

    I have 51.2MB at startup
apps: 123spoof, quickpull, app world, google maps.
    no themes.
deleted pics and clips that came with the phone. "gained 5MB" http://www.blackberryos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42
    disabled memory cleaner. "Options/security options/memory cleaning/ disable"
Deleted my message folder "gained .8 MB "I didnt delete the folder. I delete them one by one. Or set option to delete after 15 days"

Edit: forgot to mention, I deleted all games from my BB.

I have quickpull, VZnav, poynt, google maps, weather eye, VVM, no themes.
I have .114 V3. I have bluetooth enabled but not connected.

I am running 27.5 at startup.

Two of your main culprits are VZNav and VVM not to mention you may have google maps and weather eye running in the background.

I like the VZnav and VVM so im going to keep those, Weathereye is kind of a pain and im never really sure if it shuts down but Im pretty goog about shutting google maps down. How do I delete the message folder (cause I hate that thing) and the sample pics and clips? Also, how do i disable memory cleanup

I also have Slacker BTW but I always make sure its shut down.

To shut down mem cleanup go to Options/security options/memory cleaning/ disable

The message folder is a default and cannot be deleted, it can be hidden though, you can set your message to be kept a minimum of 15 days, or you can delete them when your done reading them. Are you on BES or BIS or both

I deleted weathereye, poynt, all my messages and disabled memory cleaning and now I start with 31.7

I've had the phone on since 6:30, I listened to slacker on the bus this morning for 1 and 1/2 hours and been messing with it all day and my battery is at 70%. So that seems pretty good.

Are you running any themes? Your number at start-up seems low. I have quite a few 3rd party apps installed and at start-up have 50.6mb. After everything settles in for a day or two of running v3 it's at 40mb.

Excellent post. I shut off memory cleanup and I start at about 51 megs now and level out at about 40 after a few hours. I'm still amazed how great .114 V3 is holding up. The Storm feels like it is running how it was intended to run now.
