Desktop Manager does not see Storm but Blackbery Media Sync does.....
I am trying to backup my Storm but Desktop manager does not see my device.
Downloaded and installed DM 188.8.131.52 as Admin couple of times. Rebooted multiple times.
Battery pulled multiple times.
Battery pulled while USB connected.
OS sees Blackberry and Media card in Device Manager.
BB Media Sync sees Storm just fine so its not a USB issue.
BB OS 184.108.40.206
Yes. DM is set to "USB"
Thanks alot guys

have you tried clearing the browser cache on the phone open browser>bbkey>options>cacheoptions>clear everything..
also go from home screen>options>memory> tell me what the settings there say
Cleared all cache.
Media Card Support ON
Encryt Mode None
Mass Storage Mode Support ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode.....Yes
Free Space 26.2 MB
Device Memory and media card are not avail because Mass Storage Mode is in use.
(I tried connecting to DM after disabling Mass Storage once...no go)
try changing auto enable mass storage to prompt.. after you installed the new DM did you reboot your pc?? and what verison of vista 32 or 64

Yes I did reboot after installing DM5 but will do again right now.
Still no go.
Selected no at prompt to enable Mass Storage when connected.
Storm drivers were loaded from the x86 program files tree. OS finds Storm just fine.
Tried turning off Firewall as well. <.< No go.
ok this next part sucks but seems to be what fixes it downgrade to 4.7 DM, uninstall 5.0 first... then redownload the 4.7 version. I see alot of people having touble with it on 64bit
