Thread: 9530 5.0.0.191 reboot problems

hi my first post here!!!
nyways. i recently downloaded my first unofficial OS the 5.0.0.191 from rapidshare and followed all the instructions i could get.
i had a successful install and was enjoying the new features when suddenly my bb just resets its not connected to the computer i dint do nything unusual, and i dint use the camera i also took it out of the convinience keys.
these RANDOM reboots are really crippling my OS' abilities. i canot use this phone if it keeps rebooting without notice.
anyone got any ideas y i am being unlucky?

oh and also, i even downgraded and then reinstalled the OS

my PC is a Vista 32

what 3rd party apps you have on there?

i deleted all of them for the upgrade still having prblems... :/

i'm running 191 and dont have any problems, sides the stupid camera

Welcome to BBOS!!!

I am sorry to hear you are having issues with .191. I have been running it since it leaked and have had no random reboots. In your case, I would recommend a complete wipe and reinstall, followed by a security wipe. It is really unfortunate, as each storm reacts differently to each OS. Please keep us informed and if you have questions.

i have one question do u have a password set on your phone. cause i set one before and it was rebooting every five min.just dont set a password

i installed 191 on my storm and it worked perfectly throughout the night but the next moring is went crazy and kept rebooting as yours is/was doing. what i did was do about 5 or 6 battery pulls and i was squared away. usually i dont do any and im ok guess its just the luck of the draw also make sure that if you download a copy with internal tools removed if you didnt go to your pc delete that and vender file and update....you should then be squared away after...

i decided not to upgrade and while i was downgrading i think i didnt back my bb and everything got erased, so i changed my mind and installed 5.191 and it is working flawlessly until now.
im fine without fb and the camera, but do 3rd party themes still work?
i used to hav the elle quicklaunch therme and it would b great if i could still use it.

3rd party themes work perfectly with the 191 theme.

ive had no trouble since the clean install, but just now i connected my bb to my laptop and ran DM 5.0 and then randomly, my bb reboots.
i got no idea y this happened. i just entered my pw twice when it tole me to

I would try taking the password setting off and seeing if that resolves the problem, as stated before people have reported trouble with them. If you have to have it on there I would try going to a different build,.

also, when im playing any music file, the voice dialing suddenly starts and it gets annoying when a voice suddenly interrupts your music.

ive done 2 battery pulls, and cant figure out why this is happening.
and no, there arent any keys assigned to VD

I have to admit i dont listen to much music or use VD on my storm but you may wanna look at some of the othr settings like were suggested. Poss take the password off, try clearing your cache and memory in your browser ( also in opera if you use that), look at VD options if theres is something there that might conflict? After that try another batt pull and see if that does anything.
