Thread: How can I watch streaming video?

How can I watch any streaming video ie. Youtube. I am trying to watch it from browser and then it is switching to WAP streaming but its not playing.

It says error playing.

If the videos are mobile friendly (sometime the youtube video are not). You may have an issue with the OS. If your media player is opening and then you are getting the error either of these could be the issue

- Bad OS install (reinstall the os)

- issue with the OS you are on (check findings and fixes for the os you are running)

- try a battery pull and see if that fixes the issue

i tried when i still had the .167 official carrier OS and its not playing. the media player opens up but error playing will appear.

i switched to .173 recently and i still have the same issue.
anyway, i'll check the findings and fixes.

I haven't loaded the 2 OS's your referring to but, they may have the same problem that .151 radio does... I'm guessin what Bryan is telling you is correct. It's the OS. I'm currently running 5.0.0.191 and am not having any problems with streaming apps.
Are you having any problems with other streaming apps such as Slacker or Pandora? This would help let you know whether it's the OS...

it could be your carrier has a cap on download file size, on verizon the limit is 2.3MB or something like that. i never have been able to stream video besides using the youtube app. starfire is a browser in testing stage for blackberry that has flash server side. so youtube will work like on a computer and anyother flash video sites.

Streaming video is not capped by download size though.. As u r streaming it not downloading it.

I wouldn't do it unless I have an unlimited data plan because streaming is using excessive data.
But if you still want to do it, please go to options - advance options - TCP - enable apn and put your network apn.
Some carriers require username and password.
