Thread: Unlocked Storm Shows Previous Owners Information after wipe

Hello, fellow Stormers! My wife finally took the plunge on an Unlocked Storm 9530. Trying to set it up for her. She has a Curve 8320. I wiped the phone completely with CrackUtil. Installed BBC V7 then put her sim card in from Tmobile. Booted up did the usuals as I have done with mine several times because of NOSE. Im use to it now. I have done all of the settings needed for the phone to work with Tmobile. After setting the network settings and turning on radio, all went well except for the fact that it showed previous owners emails. Also noticed that when trying to make call the previous owners number showed up. That was fixed editing the sim number. I went to the Tmobile site and entered the new PIN Number on the Storm and IMEI. Saved successfully. Resent the Books and it still shows previous owners email. Is there something I am missing? Thanks in advanced for you help.

You might try a security wipe.

Options>Security Options> BB button and select "wipe handheld" This will get rid of everything on the phone except for the OS.

Thanks Natemz, tried that, no avail. Still shows previous Owners emails.

is the pin on this device still assoicated with that person? if so anytime you get the service books I believe you will get that back

i was thinking the same thing. the pin is still linked to the person before. you should be able to fix that by having the previous owner calling in to release the pin.
