Thread: Help with BBM 4.7

I am running .191 and I can live with the camera problem. However, I need some form of BBM. I know I can not run 5.0. So I am trying to install 4.7. I have followed the instructions from other post with the loading, uninstalling and reloading of .191 with no luck. HAs anyone had any luck performing this task or can someone tell me which cod/alx files I can copy and transfer to the loaded .191.

first make sure you don't have 5.0bbm on your berry...on berry go to options>applications>add-on and make sure 5.0bbm isn't there...if it is delete it first.
hook your storm up to the usb...find the app loader (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader)... launch it ....check the bbm....finish...should be good to go

4.7 comes installed on the .191 OS. If you plug your phone into your pc and run apploader do you not see BBM on the list?

Thank you for the OTA. I downloaded it, but I think there is some part that is missing because it does not show up as an icon.

make sure you don't have 5.0BBM installed with it.if you do delete it.

I followed theses instructions and when I load the OS with App loader i can see BBM. It is already checked and the actions says none. I can not uncheck it. When I run the loader nothing happens.

try deleting all BBM off your berry,reboot and try the 4.7 OTA again. when you go to options>applications>add ons do you see any BBM's?

I have no BBM on my berry and I have done a few phone reboots.

even when you did the 4.7 OTA nothing showed up there right?

Hey catstide and Bx...
That OTA will only work for 4.7.x.xxx OS builds

I apologize for that. Let me see what else I can find for the 5.0 builds.

Thanks again everyone. I tried something and it did not work and I got an Error 200 screen. So I wiped my phone and reload .191. I'm waiting to see what happens now. The load up screen allowed me to check the BBM box. My fingers are crossed.
