Thread: Blah Warranty

So i think i might be having to make that call to VZW to get a warranty Storm

the bottom right hand corner of my BB Storm is slowly going out i have to push harder and harder everyday to get it to work in that corner so not happy :-(

Is this a common problem?

I wouldn't say common, but it happens...

There are some storm owners that came up with some tricks to get a better clicking storm.

If you are having the problem but can get the warranty that is the way to go.

Yea I was lucky and got my warranty so yea, still not happy about having a refurbished one but hey there all the same. I hear refurbished work better anyways

Yep..... they are all the same....... Thats why nobody complains about the 1000's of different issues on CB.
I'm knocking on wood cuz i dont want to have to exchange mine.

By the way, was playing with a friends (shes still on .75) but only has had it about a month. She knows nothing about crackberry or betas, and hers actually runs pretty well but she has no 3rd party apps either.

Yeah, probably why, my daughter just upgraded from 75, it was soooo slow before.

lets just hope for a good updated os that lets us use the phone in the commercials. I want that OS

But i'm not complaining much, a little faster accelerometer and more app memoey is all i'm asking for.

My Storm on the outter edges is harder to press down to select letters or what have you. I have been weary of getting it replaced as I wouldn't know the condition of the whichever one I would receive as a refurb. I wish we would have the option of either a refurb or a new one-- providing we would pay a small fee for a new one. I can say that this time around I actually have the insurance as I didn't want to pay full price for a phone if it were lost or stolen and hence would not be covered by the warranty.
But you know what? The cell phone companies get you either way it goes so what can you do? lol.....

If you dont like the replacement you get just make them exchange it. I've heard of more than one person that has called not happy with their replacement, just keep bitchin and they give in.

I just wish at some point, they make a phone that can last as long as there contracts do. lol

The only phone i ever had that lasted more than 2 years was the original chocolate, had it 26 months not one problem, gave it my daughter, had it torn up in under 2 weeks (Shes 17)

To be honest I have not Neolantis,

I have learned to deal with it, and although I think I came across a screw fix somewhere a while back, I hadn't tried to investigate it further. Can you give me a refresher on that? And, it makes the edge a little easier to press down so it doesn't feel as stiff?

My Storm's doing the same thing ...bottom right edge doesn't really even "click" anymore, still works fine, just no click to the screen when u press it. What's this screw fix u speak of? lol

2 screw in the back of the phone under the battery cover.
One is hidden by the sticker.
If You slightly, very slighty turn then both, like half a moon or so, it loosens the screen for a better click. Turn until you feel the clicking is comfortable for your liking.

Some like it.

Be super careful with the stickers, they rip easily. using the point of a safety pin is helpful.

when turning the screws, it is turned counter-clockwise, and only a quarter turn.

put the cover back on and test it, especially around the corners. if it isn't enough, go another quarter turn counter...then test it again.

DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU ARE HAVING A PROBLEM!!!
