I got my Storm 30 days after release. Have not had one issue...LOVE IT!! Hate the trackball. REALLY hated the rolly wheel from before. The touchy-feely-stormy-ness...LOVE IT!! LOL

The biggest thing between the storm and tour is the keyboard. If you are looking for a standard keyboard go with the tour. If, you don't mind spending the time to get the virtual keyboard down then go with the storm. I have used the storm since day one and have fallen in love with it. I plan on getting the storm 2 when it is released. The size of the screen is also bigger with the storm, so that is a big selling point for me too.

Isn't that like asking should I get the Hummer or the Corvette?
UPDATE:
Verizon Storm 2, Until 4/29 went to "INCREDIBLE"
Verizon Tour (Wife's)
OS: 9550--5.0.0.607/643 (OOAK w/all the fixes)
OS: 9630--5.0.0.643
The switch from large touch screen to small not touch screen would be hard to get used to.
When I tried the Storm last year, I couldn't stand typing on it.
No doubt Sun there is definitely a learning curve especially since you are coming from a Curve. It's all about your personal preference. Some people will never like suretype and others who do may never want to see a physical keyboard.
My two favorites phones for typing are the Storm and the Bold. They each have their pros and cons but which one is for someone really comes down a personal decision of "what are you most comfortable with".

If I can get 5.0.0.140 to work I'd probably stick with the S1 until the S2 came out. I'm still not keen on this keyboard, the trackball works for now (only time before it gives me trouble like my Curve did I'm sure). I think I'm too picky because there are about 5 things the Tour that keep bothering me.
1. When reading online & the screen starts to dim, the trackball cursor won't move until I click it (second Tour, same problem
2. Again, while online & typing if I try to lock the Alt keys it's a 50/50 chance the lock won't stay (e-mail & sms are fine)
3. The keyboard is a pain (so is SureType at times on the Storm at times too though)
4. The power port makes it harder to type when plugged in
5. The back cover on this one is lose (tried folding a sticky under & no go)
Maybe I can get my 5.0.0.140 issues sorted they're a bit odd although after almost 9 months of leaks I'm used to the challenges.
Good luck with your Tour! It could be worse.

I must say, I do like the keyboard shortcuts though. Dialing is nicer, and app support via keyboard shortcuts are a plus!

Different customer I think. I prefer Storm
Apps: SmartAlerts, BerryBuzz, BerryWeather, MeterBerry, QuickLaunch, BBFileScout, XContact, GoogleSync, IM+, S4A, CopyAll, Forward with Edit, Wallpaper Shuffle, ScoreMobile, Sensobi
I can't go back to a trackball and smaller screen. With V8.5 the I don't have pandora but I have 7 gigs of music on my SD card. I think the only advantage the tour would have for me would be the keyboard shortcuts I.e. space bar for page down. But when the flick scroll app gets released for the storm that will be taken care of.
guys/girls i have the tour and it it awesome but like the man said storm w/bbm 5 it is awesome i will sell my tour cheap and buy the storm 2 when it comes out in sept/oct
