Anyone know how (or currently running) to get the desktop manager functionality under Linux?
I doubt DM will work on Linux right now. I know RIM is working on a release for OS X which is coming out pretty soon and I am sure when that version comes out it will work on Linux since OS X is unix/linux base.
what is it exactly that you need the desktop manager for? if its for backups there is a thing out there for that. but as of now there is nothing like the DM for linux. your best bet is to dual boot. thats what i had to do on my other computer

Dm works fine under linux using sun's virtual box. Wine may run it but does not and will not support usb. The only issue using the virtualbox is that linux will catch the device connecting before you manually connect the bb to the vm and will screw up an os install. But the dm and bbsak works fine as long as you have .NET 2.0 or higher installed on the vm. Hope that helped.
Forgot... you have to download the closed source version from sun's website for the usb support. the open source version has no usb support.

Also if you wanted to u could install dosbox for linux and run javaloader through it.
