need some help on installing bbm 5.0

I need some help on installing bbm 5.0. I have the .alx file and the .cod files. This was the way to download bbm 5.0 before the ota came out. I never did it this way because the ota came out when I was trying to intall it this way. so now i was trying out new hybrids and went back to .151. Now i need to get bbm 5.0 back on my phone. so where do i put the .alx and .cod files.

...if you are willing to try OTA, here is a link to all of them: BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 OTAs. Choose the one appropriate for your OS, ie 4.7 for 4.7, etc. They are all BBM 5s, just modified to work with each OS. Good luck. :)

i believe you put the cod in the java folder and the alx in the os folder but i would just ota it again. is that an option?

I thought the ota's got shut down sorry about that. Know I know how to do it with the files I got. I love this forum keep up the good work work BlackBerryOS!!!

We still have the OTAs if you need them.

Just like J said, the OTAs are still active (some of them)....the ones I posted in my post are active for sure ;)

.cods go into: c/program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/OS/java PASTE HERE

.alx goes into: c/program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/OS PASTE HERE

I agree OTA is easier. Drinking may not be the best time to copy and paste into a OS

Just downloaded the OTA version but can not find it anywhere, it is showing up under Options/applications. Any suggestions?

Which OS do you have installed on your 9530?

Next, which BBM 5 OTA version did you download?
5.0.0.8 or 5.0.8

I am running Crackmans V8 over .151 and I loaded the 5.0.0.8 Version of BBM

First off I think that version is for the 4.7 OS's and the V8 has 5.O files. You need version 5.0.8. My other piece if knowledge about this is that BBC preloaded BBM 5.0 inside the Hybrid. May try running apploader again to get to the configuration screen and select the box for BBM 5.0

Let me know what you think.

***EDIT*** Correction ***
The correct version of BBM 5.0 for the V8 Crackman Hybrid is v5.0.0.8
