First off I think that version is for the 4.7 OS's and the V8 has 5.O files. You need version 5.0.8. My other piece if knowledge about this is that BBC preloaded BBM 5.0 inside the Hybrid. May try running apploader again to get to the configuration screen and select the box for BBM 5.0

Is there an OTA for version 5.0.8? When I looked in apploader the box was checked showing BBM 5.0.0.8. Before I loaded the OTA for 5.0.0.8 there was nothing in the apploader for BBM even though I have the V8 loaded.

Run the apploader again and uncheck the BBM 4.7 application that is listed above the BBM 5.0.
Let me know what you find. Are you looking in your Instant Message Folder to see if the application was in there?

I just uninstalled version 5.0.0.8 and everything is now gone from apploader also, what do you suggest to get this done the right way using OTA to make it easy?

Well, that may have been a little to much...lol but we will manage.

The first thing I would suggest is as always backup your device.

Next unistall the versions of BBM 5.0 from your device as well. then reboot your device.

Then we will try the OTA

Stand by while I verify the correct version of BBM 5 for V8

Everything is uninstalled......

I am being told that it is the version 5.0.0.8

Send this link to your device in an email then select the link to install it to your device.

That is the link I started with but could never find the app once I loaded iy onto the device, will try again any suggestions where to look for the app it did show that it was loaded under options and applications.......

Once it is loaded to your device, look to see if it is indeed in your applications list.
Then look inside your Instant Message Folder.

One question, Did you by chance shrink this hybrid before you installed it?

Yes I did Shrink and No I do not have an Instant Messenger Folder, Yes it is showing in Applications

Shrinking is not advised with this hybrid. I recommend installing the straight Hybrid. Then installing BBM 5.O.

Problem SOLVED! I went back to Shrink and added back in BB messenger and all is well, Thank you MePascal for all your help!!!! You Da Man!!!

Hello loffredo and Welcome to BBOS.

A .jad file would be a file that you can directly send to your Blackberry device via email or you could simply navigate you Blackberry browser to the .jad link and select the link.

Once you have the link on your device, you can then directly load the application that the .jad file correlates to.

Hope this helps

Easiest is to email the .jad file to your phone and open it!
