Thread: Having problems loading new OS

So I'm not new to loading OS's by any means just loaded lyricidals 5.0/.164/.151 last week or so and now when I try and load the newest one it tells me I'm missing this file and that file and all sorts of files, for my pearl flip it says software not compatible with device, and with my old curve 8310 it said it was not compatible as well.... now I've deleted everything done reboots for my computer and reinstalled and over and over and over again and tried other OS's and nothing is working tried it through DTM and Apploader mainly apploader though.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you deleted the vendor.xml file? It can hide in lots of places. What version of Windows are you running?

Do you have the base OS, compatible with your device, downloaded and installed on your PC?

If you are trying to load OS 5.0/164/151 onto a pearl or curve then you will have a problem . This hybrid was designed for a storm hence the incompatibility.

No I'm not trying to load it onto my pearl flip I was loading a PEARL FLIP OS onto my pearl flip and it wouldnt work, I'm following Lyricidals instructions closely and he states if upgrading from a previous 5.0 hybrid just install the newer one and go to it, I'm a HOFO regular I know what I'm doing I came over here for some extra help but it seems I'm getting the same.

Let's try and get to the root of the problem.... If you run BBSAK, does it recognize your phone, or phones of you have more than one?

Do you have another PC at your disposal?? Maybe one at work?? I'm pretty sure it's your PC, but lets make sure.

Sort of sounds like a vendor file is hanging around. Do an advance search look in the hidden folders and remove any specific date.

Double check everything has been removed from your pc. Check control panel as well as crogram files / common files / research in motion / shared / loader sometimes not everything gets removed as its supposed to.

I see you've tried a few devices but is this one getting recognized by the PC? Can you wipe it with jl_cmdr or bbsak?

I've tried it with a few devices and deleted the vendor file and it did not reappear, its saying for both my storm and my pearl flip that the application is not compatible... never had this problem before its just been for the last week or so, I've deleted everything and restarted and downloaded everything and repeated that a few times and have still got nothing.

my computer sees the phones, I only have my laptop my fiance has a macbook and a mac desktop... I hate mac's and I've been off work for a year with a shoulder injury.

Sharky smcold was explaining that you could have hidden vendor files on your computer. If you do a detailed by going and hitting your start menu and then checking the box for hidden files, also making sure you do not run it specific todays date. You will probably find one that way. Let me know?

trying to update the storm to lyricidals new hybrid with .167 instead of .164, I did an advanced search and found nothing under vendor so that rules that out.

want to update the pearl flip from 4.6.0.174 to the latest I think its .276 or something.

just letting you know I dont have both sets of OS's installed.

which os do you have installed, are we doing the pearl or storm first?

I did that search and nothing comes up for vendor.

storm first I have .151 installed, and I have lyricidals new hybrid installed, i have the previous one on my phone.
