Thread: How and why do we need to remove RIM Tools b4 installing 5.0?

I saw somewhere that I should remove RIM Tools before installing 5.0 to device. Why is this necessary and how do I remove it?

use the control panel on your desktop to remove it.

it sends spam emails to rim containing your pin number...and makes the file bigger that it has to be.

Thx! I will remove it. Definitely don't want RIM to be getting info about me. Do u know if this will free up some memory too?

Also it sends information of everything that is done on the phone. The purpose is to track bugs. The negative thing is that all of us are not supposed to have the unreleased OS as its meant for testers and so people leaking get in trouble.

Remember, that if you have already upgraded you phone OS you will need to delete RIM IT and then wipe your phone and reinstall the OS.
