Thread: Vibrating during incoming calls

I have had my phone do this twice, so far, since installing os5.
Going to do a wipe and reinstall to see if there were remanent files or something causing this to happen. A battery pull was the only way to make it stop.
Anybody else have this happen?
If so, what did you do to fix it? :irked:

What exactly is the problem? Your description is vague.

Do run ubertwitter? Reason i ask is because my phone would go nuts with vibrating and it was a new message notification from that program. Just a thought...

I read somewhere that the 5.0 os vibrates while ringing... Is that what is happening?

It vibrates during the call, while talking, then even after the phone is hung up, it continues to vibrate (as if it has an incoming call or message) until you pull the battery. then it stops. this has happened twice to me and once to my g/f.
Don't know how else to describe it, it's really weird trying to talk to someone with your ear getting a massage...

I don't recall a fix for this but I'll look.

yeah this happened to me several times while i was on the phone. It never stopped vibrating after i answered the call......downgraded until 5.0 is ready

Thinking of doing the same, it's rather annoying and happens pretty much every time someone calls in now. Outgoing calls are fine. This kinda sucks, cause I finally got the rest of my stuff working pretty well.

This happened to me for the first time. This is not a great fix but it works . Once your phone starts vibrating end the phone call and tell them you will call them back. Hang up(your phone will still be vibrating) and make a phone call after a couple seconds (it may vibrate one or two times while ringing but be patient) Now this has worked for me twice. apparently it only vibrates for a minute or so, I usually make my calls short, so I didn't notice this. It happened again today and while a customer was describing his car problem, the vibrating stopped and didn't start again. Perhaps this is something built into the software to make it annoying to upgrade before the "official" software hits?

I had the same thing happen. Very annoying. If you press the volume up/down button while it is vibrating it will stop that particular vibration but it comes back again in like 2 seconds. Still trying to find a solution.

My friends was doing this seems to be sparidic as mine doesnt at all but the fix i gave her was to hit the mute button(the one on the top of the phone on the right...its the speaker with a slash through it.) and that stops it permenatly for her... maybe try that?

sounds like what happened to me, stupid phone wouldn't stop vibrating, hahaha

first time it happened i had just turned on my bluetooth to play mp3 and it stopped. now any time it does it i just open my media player and start a song and it stops. if a mp3 file is already open then i can just hit mute which starts the player and makes the vibrating stop.

Hey guys, I had this same problem and here is how I fixed it. Go to profiles and set the vibration from on to custom and tell it how many times you want it to vibrate. I have noticed that no a week later the vibration does not stay on during the calls any longer...

I have a different problem. On any mode when phone rings there is this one ring tone which plays in background with the set ring tone or vibration and also on silent mode. Its not annoying like continuous vibration but in a meeting and on silent mode, thats when it hits u. All eyes are on you.:bigeyes: lollll still sticking with .130.

It happened to me once but as i was about to do a batt pull it stopped and didnt do it again i downgraded to a diff os just recently for other issues
