Thread: Cracked out BBM5

Hey guys got a good one for ya. Installed bbm5 and restored my contacts via DM and everything was fine for about 1 minute. Then a message comes up saying information dosent match then it logs on to rims server and loads my co workers contacts and profile he has a bold runing 5.0 and on his bbm is my profile and contacts WTF I wiped clean install of 5.0 OS and bbm and the same thing happens I have no clue how to fix this I need some ideas please.

I know its hard to explain but evertime I restore my bbm contacts via DM its fine for a few seconds and then a message aspears saying I'm not registered and that its gonna get my contacts per email address and then loads my and my coworkers contacts but has his name up top as if it was his phone so what I did was delete all my emails from my phone and its fine now but the minute I add an email address again it does the same crap

Okay. I think I understand a little better now.

Did your co-worker give you his phone?

No at first I thought it was cause I load and backup both our phones on the same computer at work but it does the same thing here at home I don't understand how its pulling contact info from my email address

Did you remove RIM internal tools from add/remove programs?

Is his computer connected to a BlackBerry Enterprise server?

No just bis both of us I'm on Verizon and he's on AT&T

You can backup and restore your BBM contacts via email. SO it probably only happen when you add one specific email right? So if you work together you probably share similar work emails , yes?

Also have you tried just changing your recovery email within the BBM app?

Junior, I had major issues with emails and 5.0...You may want to consider backing off of that OS till it can be ironed out...that's what I ended up doing. I spent the past two days in my free time trying every combination to get it going but no-go.

Unless there is another idea, that may be the way you have to go for the time being. I went back to the latest hybrid myself...That never fails me...
