Thread: How many people are sticking with 5.0 OS?

I am just curious to see how many will stick with the 5.0 leak. I backed down to 151 this morning due to the lack of apps that work. Google Sync was a big one for me. It's a great OS though. I hated to have to downgrade.

So how many of you are sticking with it?

Yes, I am going to give it some time. I can manage the work arounds. I feel confident that RIM and the App developers will have to see eye to eye now. This OS is far from being a completed build so as a 95xx user I am committed to this line of devices that RIM has developed. The first gen was all about the eye candy. Now Rim is implementing the business side of the R&D and I like it.

It was nice to see some of the advances that RIM has made. However, the OS, at least for me was very unstable when adding 3rd party apps (phone would reboot with app error 200). But as a business user I require a phone that works today not somewhere down the rainbow god knows when. And that is why I have gone away from the Storm altogether and to the Tour. The Storm will be a good all around device someday but that day is not now.

I will be sticking with 5.0 it is much smoother than anything else I have used on my storm. I don't install a lot of extras or 3rd party apps so I have not had any problems with it.

I'm waiting until Lyricidal comes up with something. Way too many problems noted so far for my liking. In any case, the hybrid I'm running right now is amazing.

I really like it though had a few minor problems yesterday so I wiped the phone this morning and reinstalled but added my shortcuts and apps 1 at a time which seemed to make a big difference, however reboot with meterberry is still not working but the thing that might cause me to downgrade to .151 is I can't get my phone ringer and email alerts to work. Setting them up is good, using the "Try It" button works but when put to the test no noise.

Very true, forgot about the no email notification. that was really annoying.

Yeah, but what's weird is yesterday it worked, phone clarity was the best I have ever had. I didn't have any of the problems others were having. I did the handset wipe, then bbsak wipe, installed 5.0 checking all my apps in the loader.exe and everything went fine, went to mobihand for everything else and the big problem I had was on my full keyboard, the "z" and "y" key were swapped (qwertz). Did a handset wipe with 5.0 and the keyboard was fixed, guess that's why they call them beta leaks.

I did like all the changes, but just couldn't deal with the app issues. Downgrade wins this one. If anyone has the link to the 4.7.0.151 - please send link to try. (I'm back on 4.7.0.148)

After reading the entire findings thread I decided to stick with my hybrid for now and wait for BBC to put his touches to the 5.0.

Yep, that's what I'm in the process of doing now, BBC never let's us down with his work.

I with nate an jl. I have to have a phone that works. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was great to see where RIM is going and ill reload this weekend. I just need more than a few hours to make sure I can work around problems that may arise.

i went back to .151 i need my facebook! i also had the hardest time downgrading and restoring, i'm not sure if it's because of dm 5.0 or if it's related to my current vista problems ;T
