In BBM click to add a contact
Select Scan Invitation barcode

You can click on any 2D Barcode and be taken there.

Scan the following 2D Code


I have started making bar codes from other websites

As BBM IS STILL A LEAKED BETA --WHILE USING THIS AND SCANNING IN DIFFERENT CODES MY PHONE RESET ITSELF.

That's fairly cool. I think it proves that RIM is definitely thinking of using it for more applications that just adding someone on BBM. What are you using to create the bar codes?

Here's another cool trick that MePascal discovered (i take no credit, just posting it up on his behalf).

If you type *us* then send, it will give you the picture of the US flag. You can do this for any country by typing *two letter country code* then send.

Kind of a random shortcut but nonetheless a new find.

BBM 5.0 does it for you automatically. Go into "add contact" and you have an option to show barcode. Then you have the option to save barcode to image file. I have my PIN barcode as a JPG on my phone that I can go straight to.

How do you scan?
