Still nothing on how to get this work on my 8330? I can't even install an older version......this really sucks!
Here are my findings.
Device: T-Mobile 8320
OS Ver: 126.96.36.199
Loading the new BBM was a little bit of a trick. I first tried P3Designs instructions from this thread. No dice. Kept getting that annoying "no applications for your device" message, after I had opened the ALX file. So then I tried the instructions from the front page post. Put the two COD files in the Java folder. This worked, but wasn't clear as to what version it was loading. It said it was loading 4.5.0 which confused me. I went ahead anyway hoping that 188.8.131.52 would load regardless. Sure enough it worked. It still says version 4.5.0 in the applications list on my device, but not in BBM itself.
Now my gripes. I will echo Bryan in the no pic preview option. In fact, I wish there were a lot more options. I don't care so much for the buddy pics. It makes the contacts list twice as long and hard to scroll through. Unfortunately there is no way to disable buddy pics and make it like the old contacts list. The same thing can be said for messages. It takes up twice as many lines. Your nick goes on one, and your message below that. Yay for more scrolling. Again there is no option to change this behavior. That's about as much testing as I've done.
Switching between new incoming messages is super easy and quick. I do wish there was an End all chats option in the menu rather than having to close each chat. It would just be a big time saver.
I am considering going back to BBM 4.5 to tell you the truth. The improvements to BBM just don't do anything for me. I like a nice clean, and compact messenger. Not something that tries to look fancy.
EDIT: I think my version mismatch issue is because I didn't even bother loading the ALX. Just copied the cod file and ran DM.

Sunkast I am almost there with you. This new version just looks to clustered for me, and make it hard for me to read. I will give it a few more days and see then i will go back lol
Can you help me? BBM is not working on bold 184.108.40.206. Icon is nowhere in any folder. Still it shows in applications.
in your phone go to options, advanced options, applications, highlight the bbm, bb key, delete.
if you have the os installed on your pc, go to C/program files/common files/app loader and double click on the app loader.exe, that will reinstall the bbm.

Would be nice if someone could come up with a quick little app to update the version/change it back or add it to shrink a os.
Well here's something that confused me.
There was also a third option for New Contact that you can't see in the screen shot. This confused me at first. I clicked on select contact and it took me to my address book. So I guess this feature just let's you easily associate a new BBM contact with a contact in your address book, create a new contact in your address book for the new BBM contact, or to skip associating the BBM contact with your address book.
here is the ota for 8900 thanks to johntasch over at Crackberry for the link

Quick Question, if I'm using one of the 5.0 hybrids for the storm, which version of BBM should I install?
install the normal storm one. ive got a .151/5.0 hybrid, and it installed with no probs.

How do you add an email address to the recovery email list? For some reason my main email address isn't listed there. I tried to add my daughter to my contacts and it keeps saying "Pending" (Waiting for Authorization). I know she accepted it but I think it sent it to my main email address.
Hi y'all, what in the world is a BBM
