Yes indeed. I copy/pasted the .alx into the COD folder than ran then Loader.exe. Selected add application in the configuration screen which in turn allowed me to search for the .alx file. Just as if you were loading back your 3rd party apps.

It said successfully installed on the Curve 8330 but now I dont have a BBM icon anymore. Anybody experience that?

Options>>Advanced Options>>Applications>>You should see the BBM listed with the 5.0.0.8 files.

C:// > program files> common files> research in motion > shared.. then open the os folder and ull see a java folder paste all the cods in there.. go back and drag n drop the alx bbm into the os folder then run app loader ad

connect to usb then app loader and it will say upgrade and next make sure it reads upgrade and wait for reload.. u shud be all set

download the files for the storm and run dm and follow the step as you follow usually to put an app trough dm

Same issue here , also tried on a friends 8330 and their bbm icon is gone. But we both have it listed in our applications list.

jnepsa, i simply do not have a shared folder in which to place the files into. when i try to do it through dm it gives me the error i posted a while ago. someone mentioned i need to have my phone os installed on my pc..is this true and if so how do i do this. my folder dir goes to C:/program files x86/common files/ research in motion. has folders named: apploader, autoloader, bbbi drivers, bbwebsllauncher, modem drivers, rimdevicemanager and usb drivers. i have already deleted the old bbm on my phone to try to get this to work. using vista 64bit on my pc...

i dont have her os on the comp...never did anything to her curve . my comp is storm os's

Hey dandiele,

This is the file you need to download for the Blackberry Messenger 5.0:

Once you have downloaded this, extract the zipped files. After the files have been extracted select show in folder. From this point you will see an .alx file alongside a java folder. Copy the .alx file and paste it inside the folder.

Now then. Run your DM as if you were going to reinstall your 3rd party apps with your application loader. In the configuration screen choose to add/browse applications. Look for the .alx file that you copied. Once you find this select it then finish the app loader installation.
