Your best bet at this point would be to locate a Windows based PC, DL the DM software from our site, then proceed with the upgrade. Now, somewhere around here members are running DM on their Mac's. I think we have a Mac forum.

Looks like it is almost done installing the new OS. Another potentially silly questions, but will I need to redownload the new BBM or should the one already on my comp work?

I don't think so. I've got my fingers crossed the the Loader.exe will pick it up like installing a 3rd party app. In essence, that's what we have been doing. Installing an app.

You can just copy it into the os (alx into main os folder and cod files into java), then run DM again and select BBM in the list.

Ok, got the new OS in but no new BBM - will try adding now...

Has anyone managed to get it working on Curve 8900 with OS 5.0.0.100, I'm getting very close to downgrade it to 4.6 hehe.

I am running 4.6.1.239 on my 8900 because the battery life of .250 sucks. :P
I have DM 5.0.0.11 installed. (It's on the RIM site as of about an hour ago)

First, I tried the >Application Loader >Browse to the folder method and got nowhere fast.

I copied the BlackberryMessenger.alx file to the Shared BB OS folder with .239 in it and the .cod files into the JAVA folder. Then, I ran the apploader.exe file and 3 minutes later, I had the new BBM.

Now, I'm going to put it on the wife's 8220 and hopefully I don't mess it up. She will KILL me. (That is what I get for creating an addict.)

it works if you use the files for the tour, works via ota, not sure if work via app loader

I do not have an alx file in the Java folder - all those are the cod files... I had moved the .alx file into the Program Files/Common Files/RIM/Shared/Loader Files/new OS file and selected the BlackBerryMessenger.alx file from that...

paste the cod files into the java folder and run the app loader....

Interestingly... now when I open up DM, it says I have a lot of new updates including an OS update... it just says 4.5, though, so not sure if it is trying to convert me back to the one I was on before...?
