Yes, did the show all and not there. Did the Options/Advanced Options/Applications and it is listed as Blackberry Messenger 5.0.0.8.
--- STILL CANNOT SEE BBM ICON ON 8330 --
- I have 4.5.0.97
- I copied all the .cod files to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8330-v4.5.0.97_P3.2.0.52
- Ran Desktop Manager, clicked on .alx files and it loaded it
- phone reboot
- Blackberry messenger 5.0.0.8 appears in applications
- I have "show all icons" enabled so nothing is hidden
- but NO ICON!!
Help plz!!!!

Anyone who is installing 5.0 and want the option to go back to the previous version should back up the cod file(s) you are replacing first. That way you have the old version to restore to.

what am i doing wrong??/ look at ^^ post for what i did on my 8330 curve
Originally I dl'd the file, extracted onto my desktop used DM to install the .alx from the extracted file on the dekstop. BBM icon was missing. So i copy/pasted .alx into OS folder and then c/p the cod's into the Java folder. Then used DM to run the .alx file.
