Thread: You Tube picture quality

I have just starting you tube lately and the picture quality is so bad, and blurry all the time. Is there a fix for this.

Not really, sorry. The video quality that YouTube chooses for BlackBerry devices is pathetic. I think it's about time that YouTube starts delivering higher quality content for BlackBerry users.

Nope there is not. I have to look up the exact technical reason but for example the iPhone when it grabs a you tube video it does in h264 which is a much higher resolution. The BB grabs in lower video quality format causing it to look grainy. As far as I know there is no work around except to download the you tube video directly to you SD card and play it from there.

I dont remember the video quality beingthis bad when I first got phone. Has you tube changed something?

I think it is .3gp or .3g2 and it stinks!

Yeah the first one you listed sounds familar and yes it's not too good.

Its so bad its just not worth bothering with it! To Bad because it would be nice to have a quick fix for!!!

I'm with you on that. That's why I say YouTube needs to step up it's game for BlackBerry users.

Yep it's a joke. the only way to get a good quality you tube video is to download it to your SD card then watch it from there. The picture quality doing it that way is amazing but a total pain in the butt to have to do that each time you want to watch something.
