    Firewall question

    Greetings to all...

I was wondering if someone might explain to me what the purpose of the firewall is in the Storm.

Mine is a personal phone and on BIS only. I am on VZW and running .148 Is it of any benefit to me to enable the firewall? I understand the purpose of one on a PC, but on the Storm?

When I had it enabled, quickpull would not function ad would generate an error message.

Thanks for all your work and insight.

The only real benefit for BIS users that I can think of is that you can set access permissions for 3rd party programs. For instance you can make it so Opera mini does not ask for permission to access the internet anymore. I assume you got the error with quickpull due to not setting the permissions for it in the firewall program itself. I have never used the firewall but others that have said it slowed down the phone some.

I could not get quicklaunch to do a reset, I kept getting an error message. I just disabled the firewall after reading this and now it works like it should with no error. Thx.
