Hello all, I'm moving out of the country to Israel Aug 1, but I still want to keep my Storm, what do I have to do to unlock it so I can use it there?
It's pretty simple and this worked in getting vzw to unlock my storm. First off your account has to be in good standing and your account active for at least 60 days. Then call vzw internation support and telling them you are moving to some random country like Madagascr (make sure it is not one vzw supports). They will then issue you a unlock code and you'll be good to go.Quote:

But I'm missing something. Here is the directions that they gave me...
• Provide customer with steps to unlock the SIM: below
• Ensure SIM card is inserted correctly.
• From main screen, select Manage Connections icon. Select “Turn All Connections Off.”
• Return to main screen, select Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card.
• Type 'MEPD' (letters will not appear on-screen but a menu will pop up).
• Type 'MEP2' (user will be prompted to enter MEP code)
• Enter the unlock code (from Guarded Link), then tap Return key on the screen. Confirmation received.
• Reboot device
• From main screen, select Manage Connections and then “Restore Connections.”
Device is now unlocked.
When it gets to the step "enter MEP code" I don't know what that is. I think it is a 10 digit code. Any ideas? Once I get past that all I have to do is enter the code they gave me.
