Hey, was wondering is there a way to go around the download cap on the blackberry storm thru verizon. Any opition will help thanks.

Sorry but VZW has capped what you are allowed to download and there isn't way, that I know of, to get around it.

correct Jl...there is absolutley no way around this. If you need to download something that large use a computer then move it to the phone. Now, if its because your using tetherberry or something...remember that you should only be using tether berry as a filler for bad wifi areas.

VZW will track large changes and overages and act accordinly with charges

They know exactly when your using the Blackberry data or tethering data, so as stated here all ready, no way around it except pay for it.
Now if your talking about downloading something large using the browser, I've seen people have luck using Opera Mini, I can't confirm this as I never had a need to try it.

Good point I know Opera will let you download more than BB browser but I am not sure on how much bigger it will let you go. Thanks for pointing that out mrzoso

to support what Bryan said, i have downloaded the largest file using opera, not sure what was the size of the file but took like 2 or 2 and half hours to get done, of course stored on my powerful 32gb sd card

I've heard of class 6 sd memory cards do they go any higher?

as far as i know class 6 is the latest one, maybe the 64 gb will be something higher

class number i have no idea and the cap again is 5gb

Class represents the ability to transfer the data or data rate. The higher the number the faster the data rate exchange. So in terms of the device to SD card, it would be the speed at which the data transfers between the device and the SD card and vice versa...

Pod trapper will let you down load large pod casts both video and audio. I called verizon cuz I was concerned about the 5gig cap because some of the video podcasts are over 100mb the rep said as far as data on the phone goes not teathering (sp?) There is no cap and I would be fine using podtrapper even if I went over 5gig I had her put in my account that I had called about it and got her name and where she was. Got my fingers crossed that I don't end up with a fat bill I have to fight.
