You friggin' rock! Makes sense now that you say it. I didn't know that the iPhone used a 3. I'll be making my little online purchase in the AM or trek over to Fry's. I'll post back when I have an answer on if it works.
    THANK YOU!!!!!

Really? Because the new adapter we bought today doesn't work.
I was trying to hold out til the new hybrid came out, but I guess can upgrade to .109 in the mean time.
    Let you know what happens...

Maybe it is OS related, but I wouldnt think so. I cant believe the adapter didnt work. I hope you were able to return it. There something with that cable in your vehicles. If it was professionally installed maybe ask them. Or maybe look into something like this.

If it does, I think you would need an adapter that would bring it to a normal stereo jack.....one that has only 2 rings?

Given the info that the OP gave, that type end was what worked in her storm. But, that was the wrong one. At this point, I'm not sure what will work.

Sorry for not reporting I drop my phone and just got my new one and thanks shane for covering the issue that was right where I was heading. The frys by my house had the right adapter but I guess that wasn't the problem. If I had it in front of me I know I could fix it but unless you live houston I doubt that's gonna happen. You have tried a walkman or pod with that cable recently right.

The one in the car has 2 rings. I thought because the head set had 3, that an adapter with 3 would work.

I really appreciate all the help everyone has offered.

Ok I'm taking the adapter comments back I came and found my old. Ipod cable and it worked fine, but I did have to take my case off so it would go all the way in. So if you have a cover of some sort try taking it off. Then if that doesn't work I would try a new cable they are fragile.

Our iPods have both been broken for a while, so I haven't been able to test them. I do have a Nano that was working a couple of weeks ago. I just don't know what it can be. hubby bought a new cable a couple of days ago, and it didn't work (the 1st thing we tried). I just might give up soon. Dunno..... I just KNOW it's going to be something stupid.

beachbunnimom, Do you have any car audio stores around you? Maybe stop there and see if they might be able to troubleshoot it. If nothing else, make them think your buying whatever it is that works. Then go home and buy it on ebay...lol
