Thread: Storm is not turning on

My girlfriends storm literally just will not turn on. I also have a storm as well and mine is fine, I switched out my battery (which I know has charge) and put it in her phone and still nothing. The red light blinks and holds for a little bit and from time to time the screen will flash a brief white real quick. Its as if the phone is on but not displaying anything.

I left it like this over night and the next morning I notice the batter was completely drained (i put it in my phone). It seems as if the phone is on, what gives?

I tried connecting to my pc but it will not connect to the phone.


What should I do?

It is a Storm 9530 with 5.x OS

Take a look at this guide if this does not help then you may be looking at faulty hardware, and it may be time to check the warranty.

Here is the condensed version:

1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.

2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly:

c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm

3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your BlackBerry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.

If you do not see the list of applications in step five then you need to download an OS for your device.

I tried downloading the latest 5.0 OS and it says the site is under maintenance. To be expected? Is there another download link?

I apologize in advance if Yes, there come to the right topic, but I have a problem with my storm.Problem is following, you can not charge the battery icon shows that the charger is not charging. I tried a new battery is the same problem. I would be very grateful if anyone can help me. Another storm battery is charging.

Have you checked out if your BlackBerry 9530 has the latest OS?

Sometimes all it takes is an OS upgrade, as it solves most if not all problems.

Take a look at our 9530 download page or click Downloads: SaskTel_9530_5.0.0.866 for the latest OS.

i have some problem, my storm 9530 cant turn on. every I plug the batere there is no display on the screen. but when the mobile number is called, the calling is work. is there the OS get trouble?and I dont have any DM on my PChelp
