iam in need of help .., iam using blackberry storm2 9550.., this bb my sis she got it from usa.., and bb was verizon cdma , i unlocked it and made it gsm here in india hyderabad., i could able to make calls but unable to use bb internet services.., i tried register my bb through host routing table ..., and also tried to change mobile directory no ie my number through ##000000 but still my sis number get display could you please help me..,

Tarujansari, when you go into the HRT do you see entries or does it say "no entries"

sorry for the delay, if it says no entries then your not connected to data from your wireless provider. this can be for a few reasons, The most common is either on accident or on purpose the data service ware removed or not " provisioned" from your wireless provider. have you checked with them to see if ur data is active? also make sure the data service in your berrys options is turned on. most of the time its under options> mobile networks> "data service"
try that and let me know
i checked today my sim card by typing mped
options: sim: disabled
network inactive
network subset disabled
service provider disabled
corporate disabled
so wht this means..,
the data option is on., i service provider say service is active.., and one more do i get any msg after register from hrt..., i did't recieved any msg.., but from service provider i got msg saying my bb plan is activated..,
network inactive indicates that your gsm radio in the blackberry is unlocked and able to be used on other gsm networks
if you getting signal and able to make calls then nothing in that section would be preventing you from using data. did u check with your provider ?

ok so the fact its lowercase confirms that you have no data connection. lets try to make sure the settings are stored int he device. do you happen to know the apn that vodafone has you setup to use?
this is an example of what the settings should look like. the apn username and pass are from your carrier. (most carriers that use gsm don't make many changes to this but i would check them anyway.
Check Device APN:
1. Options
2. Adv. Options
3. Select TCP:
*APN: vfinternet.au
* Username and Password BLANK
4. Save Settings
You may want to check with your service provider. We have had heard many complaints like this in the past. Heard that it could be that India quit supporting older numbers with BIS data. See this thread.. http://www.blackberryos.com/blackber...n-problem.html

lol. the question is what ones i didn't have. I most recently left the Samsung Galaxy s II and prior to that i was using the Htc mytouch 4g. stoped using the blackberry prior tot he 6.0 os and made the switch back.

yeah i think most people try the iphone at a point in time. i started with the G1 when tmobile launched it and deff seen a large ammount of inprovment but still can use some refinement like anything else. berry is getting up there tho

I really need your help please, I'm posting from Iraq.
So I have Storm 2 9550, OS is v5.0.0.1015,from Verizon. It is unloked and works perfectly in Georgia, all the BB services are available there. Now in Iraq, non of the operators :Asiacell, Zein ect, are able to set up blackberry services, they don't know reason, just "instead of EDGE (capital) is written edge :(
Now if I upgrade OS will it help?
Or what can be done to use my device as normal BB not just phone? :(
