Thread: Stupid bugs!

I'm just wondering if anyone else discovered these bugs. I'm running v7 but I noticed they do the same thing in older versions of the OS. First open your dial pad, use the top buttons to go to either call log or contacts and then go back to the dial pad. Notice that the arrow from the lists remains on your dial pad. (Stupid, why even bother trying to fix this lol). The next one is with the volume button. I find that sometimes when I want to change volume it will end up changing the song. Also when I'm watching youtube videos I can not change the volume. (I use the default player to watch videos)

Let me know if you guys experience the same problems or know how to fix them...

I can relate to the volume button and how it will change songs instead of just the volume. Is there a fix for this?

I only noticed the arrows after reading this post. If you press the BB button the arrows go away. I haven't really noticed the other issues as I don't play music on my phone very often. For some reason I still carry around my ipod for listening to music.

Only problem I haev had similar to those were on video mode. And this happened in more than just V7. After watching a vid, in landscape all was well. In portrait, the vid control bar was still on the bottom of the screen covering the bottom row of icons. Had to pull the batt to fix it.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of visual bugs in all OS so far....I really hope that RIM is aware of these and is working on fixing them. I know Civic made a thread on them and she said she also reported them to the right people, so we can only remain hopeful.

Is there a thread for "suggestions to OS" there is one feature I wish they would put in. I have a bad habit of going to the contact, highlighting the number I want to call and then just hit the green phone button. All that does is go to the phone screen and not take the number over with it. Drives me nuts.

I was constantly doing that. That is part of the reason why I like accelodex, it makes big buttons for the contact that you just push and it calls.

I hope I am not being captain obvious here but, the volume button issue isn't really a bug. I believe it was designed that way in that if you tap rapidly it increases or decreases the volume and if you hold it down it will change the song for you. I use this feature all the time when I am running. Nothing says disaster like running and trying to look at the screen to advance to the next song or even if your driving. Sort of an eyes free quick change to advance the song . As for that arrow bug... very interesting. Never noticed that before.

the keyrate had been altered with the .14x builds, so to avoid "skipping" by holding the volume up button, go to options>screen/keyboard>and change keyrate to something lower than what you have now. i suggest anything lower than normal to avoid the tap vs hold effect from initiating.

But I find that when you do this it affects the rate in which i can pound out emails. I have it set to fast and when I set it to normal I notice a difference in the speed in which the keyboard responds. I so guess it's 6 1/2 of one a dozen of another.

keyrate should only impact the tap vs. hold time from what i've been told, did you change something else besides that?
