    Having probs wiping my storm

hey all, well i'm running vista 64. i've tried all 3 programs to wipe my phone with little success. JL does not work. with crackmem and crackutil i just cant seem to get the phone to give me the error for a blank phone. Can someone point me in the right direction here. Everytime i use one of these the phone does restart but still contains its os. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong here. Some help would be great. Thanks all

Are there any advantages to "wiping" your phone? Will it stop the memory leak or just run better?

Some would say yes some say no. When I install an OS I wipe but that's just my OCD. What I found to be more effective in reducing memory leak is manually adding 3rd party apps and contacts instead of through DM or Loader.exe. The more OS's you install the more chances that a directory has been corrupted which will lead to memory leak. I know it's pain to do but IMO it has reduced memory leak. Of the course the best thing you can do to prevent memory leak is to not install themes. Just my two cents.

I feel the same way. I'm just not sure if JLCmdr is really and thoroughly wiping my phone. I wish I knew of one that did. I also agree by constantly using a backup to restore all the 3rd party apps isn't good either but as far as the phonebook, I can't enter over 300 contacts everytime I load a new OS.
Especially the way we have been doing that. LOL

    Hey Striker....
If you ever get the chance and you want to wipe your device, try the BB Swiss Army Knife. Very user friendly.

    Use mirror two.

I've used it myself over the last weekend. No sweat. Got the 507 error on my device like it should.

    Regards,
    ~Michael~

Yes and make sure any 3rd party apps that appear when Loader.exe launches are not checked.

hmm....now I am going to use the app loaded for V7 in the shared files. I wouldn't go back to .148 I would do it for another hybrid. Would that still be ok, and how will my PC know where my wiped phone is?

So I think I understand your questions correctly. Yes you will be able to load another hybrid over the .148. As far as your PC recognizing your handset after the wipe, when you get the 507 message on your handset, your PC will still recognize that device a removable disk drive or storage unit so to speak You would simply run the Loader.exe to install which ever OS you like.

    Regards,
    ~Michael~
