Thread: Issue with email and Microsoft Exchange Server

Here is what we have.

We are running Exchange 03. We have all the computers in the office (except one) using Outlook 2007 on the exchange server. The one machine is using POP3 to get mail.

All of our bb storms are using pop3 to get the email.

Now, here is the issue. The one machine when it gets email, mail shows as new on both the computer and the storm. On the remaining, the email shows as new on the computer UNTIL the storm gets the mail message, then it shows as read.

Is there a way to fix this so the message shows read only when selected on computer and not by the blackberry?

Couple things Chris,
On the ones that you are having issues with try the following:
1. On each BB go to Messages/bb button/options/email settings/ send email to handheld "YES"/ exit and save
2. You should be back at the options menu go into Email Reconcilliation/ wireless reconcile "OFF"/ exit and save.

Tried it, still the same result. As soon as the storm has the e-mail, Outlook marks it as read.

When you set up the accounts on the BB did you do it through Setup/email setup ?

yes and no. Initial setup was through the setup/email setup on the blackberry. After the 114 upgrade, we had to re-send the service books via the website (www.blackberry.com/go/vzw).

Have you re registered the devices on the BB network?

To be honest, I am not sure what you mean. So I cannot say.

go to Options/Advanced Options/Host Routing Table/BB Button/ Register Now

Keep me posted vader7071....and I will continue to work on it

Now I didnt ask yet and probably should have. When the device gets the email, is it marked as read also or is that just on the PC

I should have mentioned that. My fault. It marks as unread on the blackberry and read in outlook.

that tells me its an Outlook issue, is that machince running 03 or 07

Outlook 2007. Windows XP. Exchange Server 2003.

have you gone into your mobile notifications and options in outlook?

Tools/options and at the bottom of the pop up

That feature is not turned on. We don't use it.

Just a thought, I dont use either, on BES.

Have you deleted the account and re installed on the device. Maybe just a glitch with the activation. If you do, just resend your books from the device after re-installation.

haven't tried that yet, but we have the issue on all the computers that are using the exchange server. Mine is the only one not on exchange, and I don't have the problem.

Hmmmm, I am going to set mine up on the exchange server and see if I cant duplicate the concern...
Do you have Microsoft Outlook web access?
