So for the last two weeks I have been having intermittent problems charging my phone. Now its gone kaputz. I get a "the power supply is insufficient to charge the phone". I called Big Red and now on to my 7th Storm. Funny enough the help person told me I should get the Tour because I've had soo many storms.
Storm 1- Replaced after 2 days power button fell off.
Storm 2 - Call button would not work
Storm 3 - Screen would not click on lower right corner.
Storm 4 - Screen click was horrible all the way around.
Storm 5 - Dirt under the screen okay maybe just dust but a lot of it.
Storm 6 - Phone does not charge.
I'm on #3! First replaced because of the
Same problem your having now. And that was
My favorite. It worked perfect other wise.
Second one, three days later because
The whole bottom of the screen barely clicked.
After that I spent 2 hours at big red, making them
Going through all the refurbs until I found one
That I liked. Then made them call cs to
Find out why it was returned. It was returned
After two days cause the person didn't like it.
So I went with that. Moral of the story. Make them
Find one that you like. Oh and I found that the
Ones made in Canada were or seemed
To be a better phone. Ones made else where
All had screen problems.
I have a few storms to go to catch up to you then. But we tied in the Tour. :Eyecrazy: :Eyecrazy: :Eyecrazy: Crazy isn't it. Wonder why so many defective phones.
I am a picky person so if they didnt perform the way I felt the should then I would call and have them replaced. The first 6 were replaced for screen issues (either crunched and not clicked or they were so tight that they didnt click, yes I could have fixed those but why should I) the 7th would not charge, the 8th couldnt be recognized by the PC, the DM yes, just not the PC. The 9th one so far has been pretty good. Out of these 9, I have had 4 refurbished and the other 5 have been NIB. I still havent given up on the Storm, I still like it....
While I do like the Storm I have been through 12 agonizing replacements. 6 were refurbs, 6 brand new. None have worked optimally and as many on this site know I have had a myriad of problems. The Storm is a nice concept but my personal experience has been nothing but one issue/failure after another.
I am on Tour #1, and out of the box it works perfectly. No hassles, no BS, just the way a phone should work. I have wasted so much time on the Storm that I don't see myself going back to it again in the future.
WOW!!! Either I'm long suffering or you guys have really bad luck. I'm still on number one from November 2008. Although the screen click is suspect, some of the tricks and suggestions here have made it worth keeping.
There for awhile right before .151, it was Tour city man, then .151 changed my mind. Now I'm taking a wait and see approach before moving on to the next phone. I'll see how the Storm 2 is received and then make up my mind either to stick with the Storm series or head on back over to the physical keyboard bunch.
No matter what, it has sure been interesting to say the least.
Wow, I never would have guessed people would stick with this phone after their 3rd or 4th, glad to know people rn't giving up on the phone. I personally haven't not had any problem so big that I felt like exchanging it. The only problem I have with my phone (and my phone came in Decemeber 02, 2008) and it's really slight is that the bottom right corner of the screen is a little harder to click. But it does click, just need to put a little more pressure. Other than that, everything works great. *Hope i don't jinx myself lol* BTW my phone was made in Canada, incase anyone was wondering.
