I've gone through 4 Storms since December.
Still on my first one, other than a little dust under the screen havent had any problems. I'm scared to return it for a replacement even thought they told me i could, just hear too many horror stories and dont want to post here next time saying i'm on my 4th.
once, but it was my fault for dropping it flat on its face on rocks and shattering the screen. surprisingly still functioned fine.
I am on #2 - Battery problems. It would go dead in 30mins or less.
The wife is on #4. I think she is working her way to get it replaced with the Storm2. I tell her that she always gets one with a loose screw holding it (think about it, you'll get it. Lol.)
Wow, you guys are making me feel lucky. I'm still on Storm #1 from January.
im on storm #4 about to go to vzw and get another new one cuz screen is feeling weird
I bricked my original and a replacement within 2 days of each other in March (tried to upgrade with a pirated version of Windows (I am a Mac user) ...now I bought XP). I was honest with Verizon and they still replaced both of them FOC. It does pay to be honest....:dance:
I purchased a ZAGG "full body coverage" for my first storm and it was great, but won't protect beyond scratches. I have not purchased another for my replacement device and I just have a silicon "storm condom" for it which came in the original device box. It works...
0 still on the 1st one!!!!!
still on my first, running since early december. a few scratches (not on the screen) from being dropped, but still works great. lucky lucky.
I've tried everything and the problem is, if you take the phone apart and look at the back of the click screen, there are four gel like pads at each corner and only one actual "click" switch in the middle. The screen moves around about 1mm in every direction as you all know. Well, this movement causes these gel pads to become unsecured and either fold over, fall off or just wear out completely. This is why so many phones have problems clicking in one area. I'm a mechanic and a complete tech geek, so any time something doesn't work properly, I take it apart and fix it. These phones, however, require a new screen to be fixed because of the stupid design of the click screen. There is no "FIX" per say, other than replacing the screen. You can, however, do the trick with a little paper under the battery, as this does stiffin up the structure and give a little more fimness, but by no means fixes the clicking in corners issues.
On my 5th storm. whoo hooo
Wirelessly posted
U no u can turn the screws in the back clockwise to make the screen click better.
Yea, that does nothing but loosen the case and cause other issues...... You do what you want, but I'm letting you know exactly what the problem is. You can put band-aids on knife wounds all day long, but untill you get stiches, you still have a problem that gets worse every day
one. it died 2 weeks after i got it in december. How can you tell if the replacement was a re-furb?
On my 2nd one
all my issues have been cause of the screen
Replaced original one due to screen issues and I am on the phone as we speak ordering my third one. Do to screen not registering touch and hard buttons not working. Yay me :)
And I am ordering #7 since my replacement today still does not work with BT.
