no option in menu to hide it, how to close keyboard without menu option to hide
An easy way to have your keyboard in any application is to set it as a side convenience key.
Go to options/keyboard, and you will see it there.
Once set, you should be able to open and close it when you need to
By the way, it is listed as virtual keyboard in the choices.

sry, bad explaination....the keyboard is up on screen with google map, i can't get it off the screen, and there is no hide keyboard option in menu
have you tried swiping it down?
if you hover your finger on the top row of the keyboard, so the keys highlight, and slide your finger down it should hide.
it may take a couple of tries.

does not seem to do it either, may just blow away google maps and load again, worked correctly at first
Try pulling the battery also if you haven't already.

You might want to change compatability mode for the App. Options/Advanced Options/Applications. Scroll dowm to bb maps, then hit the bb button. Comfirm that compatability is not enabled.
that was it,had to take it out of compatibility mode...many thx
Glad we got you fixed up. I don't understand why compatibility does that with some programs. Kinda annoying if you ask me.
