Thread: known builds and leaked builds

can someone tell me why there is such a difference in the known builds for the 9530 4.7.0.220 and the leaked builds 4.7.0.148 now i'm with telus they just now released .122 they is there such a difference between what is say released by the carriers and what is a known build? where does the known build information come from?

The "known" build is what is internally at RIM and sometimes out to testing and not leaked. And when .122 leaked, it is the same file released by Telus, no differences. As for the difference from .122 to .220, there are probably alot, just have to wait

so that would just be a natural progression as they work through the newest versions of the OS before a release. Just seems like if i were telus i would want the newest but then again perhaps the newest release isnt always the most stable. Thanks for the info Stiefler

That is correct, as i have heard, the .18x builds werent so great, so they learn from mistakes and fix them, some builds are just bugs. And you welcome Canuk

Heard they were pretty good. Just because it might have failed doesn't mean it isn't good.

It has not been leaked so unless you know a RIM tester that will leak it to you then you will just have to wait until someone leaks it, or leaks on higher

Seriously though....Seems like since the 5.0 Builds have been dropping, the 4.7 Builds have been more or less on the back burner.

Thank you. I have tried all of the 5.x versions and I went back to 4.7 due to the random reboots. Have the reboots with 5.0.0.230 been fixed?

Looks as if you have endured some rough luck with trying to resolve your issues with the 5.0 OS builds.

I can tell you from personal experience that the only 5.0 Build that I had random reboots was the 5.0.0.140 build.

I only had 5.0.0.191 on my device for three days as I need a camera however, I did not experience 1 reboot.

5.0.0.230 is currently on my device. This build has worked very well indeed. Not one reboot with this build either.

I've been on BBC's 230 for a couple days now with a lot of use and without a single random reboot.... Makes me wonder if is one or more of your applications -- though I guess it could be your specific phone.
