4 9530'2 3 on .328 1 on Lyric's .464. 2 different computers 1 running XP Pro with DM 5.0.1.37 the other running Vista with no Blackberry related programs.
Problem: Plugging any of the .328 phones into a usb cord on either computer produces a white unreadable screen and crashes the phone. Will not reboot until the cord is unplugged.
The .464 phone connects and or charges on either computer, Any Ideas?
Have you been able to utilize this to load a straight OS onto any of those 4 storm?

None of the phones running Big red .328 will connect. The phone running .464 has no problems.
Somehow you need to get those devices wiped.
I thought that if you started the loader operation while the battery was removed from the device that you may be able to get past your issue.

It won't run even with the battery removed. They look like they might boot but then they just go black and stay there.
Yeah per Neo's instructions, while the device is loading when you see the red led indicator turn on is when you would install the battery to see if you can connect to the device.

That was the first thing I tried. If you plug the phone into the computer a white screen with writing too small to see pops up then the phone goes off. Leave it plugged in and it will go through this cycle I assume for ever. Plug in with no battery it makes the same cycle. Insert the battery on the red light just makes the cycle.
I have the same problem on my 9530. Plugging into Vista or Win 7 machine is fine, but when I plug usb into my laptop running Linux Lucid Lynx (Ubuntu) the phone crashes exactly as described. White screen briefly flashes with tiny error text and disappears, too soon too read.
This has been an incredibly unreliable OS, in my experience. I have had this phone crash on me more times than I can count, and quite often when I am trying to do something real simple, like unlock the screen, or answer a call.
If it's a 'smart' phone, it may be to smart for it's own good. But it IS a PHONE, and at the very least should do that well.
Sorry for the off topic rant, but I am really unhappy with this thing constantly crashing. I expected that buying a 'Blackberry' meant I would be getting an enterprise level product, with relatively solid software. This thing hasn't worked reliably for the entire year I have had it, and I blame the software.
If the software is fixed soon, I might actually consider getting another blackberry. At the moment, I can't recommend the brand.
It's a shame this thing can't run Android OS.

i can help but help me. Does your blackberry Power up an run normally by it self?
i too have a 9530 that crashes whenever its plugged into a windows 7 or vista machine, and one that is just fine. i have wiped and loaded a default OS on it once from an xp machine, but still crashes once plugged into a windows 7 machine again.
