Thread: So many OSs and Hybrids...HELP!

Ok, I'm a weekly visitor to this site, so much to read to keep up.

I have the storm 9530, I have 141 installed with Hybrid 5, my about screenscreen shows V4.70.141 (platform 4.0.0.174)...am I up to date?

You are talking about Hybrid 4. You are up to date though, Crackman is working on v5 which will be out shortly.

I must be confused - the file is named "5.0Hybrid(x64)"?

You are using Lyrical's hybrid which is a .141/5.0 mix

Do you see any problems overwritting this hybrid with crackman's 5 hybrid when it comes out?

If it was me I would wipe the phone to get rid of the 5.0 OS files (Lyric may say different but that is IMHO). And on your PC have an OS installed with exception of .114 or .122 and you should be good to go. As it gets closer to release BBcrackman will let us all know the exact loading procedure.

Ok, now I am confused. Had to get a new Storm last night, took it up to V 4 from 75. It was not a smooth process. I am showing 132 platform 162. Is this correct?

Yup that is correct

That is correct because v4 uses the SFI file from 132 which is platform 162. The other member is using Lyrical's hybrid 141/5.0 which uses the SFI from 141 (Platform # 174).

That's a difficult question to answer. Some say v4 some say 141/5.0.

I have run both and had better results with v4 but that is just my two cents. the only real way to determine this is give them both a shot and see which one agrees with your phone more.

Is there any benifits to running the v4 over the new leak of 141 or would you stick with 132?

Me i didnt like .141, had bad memory and battery, so i went back to v4, that has been the best for me so far. But each phone reacts different on an OS

I did not see any benefit from it, as a matter of fact, it was a step down in my opinion. I would just stick with v4 because v5 should be right around the corner.

I definately do not reccomend using the 5.0 files on your storm. wait til it is leaked for the device to use it. Currently i am using my own mix of .141 CDMA file and the v4 java, and its working great. it works on my device better than v4 does straight up, been running for nearly 40 hours, and still at 45.24 mb, and slightly over 50% battery after over 24 hrs, which is great. but you be the judge. all os have different effects on different devices. try a few different versions and see what you like best, i would definately stay way away from any build using files from the 5.0 leak since it is NOT for the storm. my 2 cents

i would def. go with v4 of bbc hybrid!! best ever!!!

I would stick with .132 v4

It seems that if you ask 5 people the question which is best you are going to get 5 different answers!

Harley, it's just like the radio question it really depends on so many factors that hard to quantify. You could probably ask 100 people and get 100 different answers. It's really a matter of personal preference.
