I bought a Jabra bt 8040. It supports A2DP but I can't hear my custom ring tones thru it. Videos and music play thru it so why won't my ring tones work on it?

I am 97% sure that it is derived from the phones bluetooth capabilities. Which activate the headset device's ringtone to play. In other words. The phone doesnt play that as an outgoing sound to other devices. Even if you plug it into a headset/car stereo with a 3.5mm jack it still will not play from anywhere but the phone.
