Thread: blackberry maps is missing

okies after doing my first complete wipe of my 9530 and backing up everything it would appear my backup was not 100%. I'm missing a few things along the way. One of those things is blackberry maps. Can anyone tell me the procedure to get that back on my phone. I tried going to BB site and downloading it but that didn't work.

Did you install from the loader.exe or DM?

If you plug your phone into you pc and open DM then choose add/remove you should see bb maps, check mark it and click next and completed the add process.

If that doesn't work, follow the below procedure and when the wizard gets to the selection part, check BB maps from the list.

Go to…..C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader…..delete the vendor.xml file

Dbl Click the Loader application:


Check what you want to be installed and continue with the instructions.

yup that got it.. thanx guys.... now if i would have read about backing up 3rd party software before hand like every single post says i would be in great shape live a learn. :knockedout:

Not in DM list... any other options? RIM/BB site does not have it either

Wipe your phone and reinstall the os again, this time if you use shrink an os make sure its not checked, and when u do the os install make sure you check the one that says blackberrymaps. did you look in you apps folder on the phone?

Jlevy; I did that earlier... when i click on like the below message is displayed. Also, tried with my Storm as directed below, got message that site does not exsist... SO.. any other ideals... This has been driving me nuts since yesterday... Any help is appreciated.

BB maps zip files are for older versions and those wont work on OS 4.6 and up
your best bet is the method suggested above using DM to reinstall bbmaps

Have you tried re wiping the phone... redownloading the os you are using and the hybrid if one used...and reinstalling. but first question have you gone to, options>avdvanced options>applications> and see if its listed there. If it is, it is on your phone sometimes its in like your downloads or applications folder

Have you wiped and reinstalled?
BBmaps is part of the os's exe file. I've had your same issue in the past with BBMess and a reinstall fixed my issues.

Site does not work or provide any info... i did wipe and reinstalled 132/5.1 ... bbm still missing. i think ill downgrade to .75 to see if it appears...

plug in your phone to your computer. then go to C: programfiles/commonfiles/reasearchinmotion/apploder/ then double click loader then just load the os again and just make sure bbmaps is checked off. hope this works for you

before that on your phone go options>advandced options>applications> and see if its there, other wise you are very possibly not checking it to be installed when you do the install.
