Thread: Iphone or Storm 2?

Unofficial sources say the iphone is coming to Verizon next year. Not confirmed but it was reported on CNN and alot of different sites. Just an opinion poll.

I would be down with the Iphone if it came to Verizon My brother has one and I enjoyed playing around with it when he was visiting.

How bout an option for neither? but if i had to choose, storm2 lol

this past weekend i was talking to a friend who works at apple, and he was saying that the exclusivity contract with at&t has 5 more years or something like that and that there's no way to bring it to verizon.

that being said, i also found this article that suggests an iphone-like device that is in the works (in an attempt to circumvent the exclusive agreement with at&t), and/or an iphone that can run on verizon's not-yet-implemented lte network (not cdma).

who knows what's true or what will actually happen, but speculation is exciting!

that would work only for wi-fi calls though not cellular calls. id stick with the storm in that case. and no way will at&t let the iPhone go without a fight. its making them WAY too much money.

If Storm 2 had wifi, I would go with Storm 2. If not I will just keep Storm 1.

AT&T's contract ends 05/2010 - and as of now, has not been renewed with Apple. That's not to say that they won't continue the exclusive deal with eachother, but today, it ends next year.

Most of you guys are savvy enough to unlock an iphone and use it now, if you wanted to. Leave the iphone for your kids! The storm is better fpr business applications, and it offers a great multimedia experience also.

ATT's contract ends in2010 so thats enough time to develop the CDMA or LTE version before launch. From what I have read it's gonna be based for when Verizon begins to start using there 4g/LTE. It would be smart on Apple's part to switch to Verizon because Verizon has a bigger customer base and Verizon is more reliable. I had a friend with iPhone andit's cool but his signal really sucks. With Verizon I always have strong signal specially thanks to Crackman's V4.

i love my storm but ive never used an iphone but i have seen one work and i tell u its alot faster than my storm. i just want 3g and ill be happy. verizions phone network is great but the internet sucks.

I had an iPhone, right before I got the Storm, and to be completely honest, I loved my iPhone. It was much quicker and worked much better than the Storm (you have to admit, the browser is amazing), but one thing I hated was that Apple is so strict with their permissions as far as music, ringtones, MMS (or lack of it), third party apps, unlocking, etc. They only let you download THEIR APPROVED 3rd party apps. And you have to buy music and ringtones through them. I've always made my own ringtones from songs I like that sometimes aren't available. With Apple you have to buy the song from them then make a ringtone out of it. If the Verizon iPhone is remotely close to this, I'll stick with my berry, I can do anything I want to it, then wipe & start all over again. If the new VZW iPhone comes without these restrictions (which I HIGHLY doubt), then it'll be a hard decision to make.

I had an iPhone as well and the iPhone is not a bad device the problem with it for me was the carrier, AT&T. Nothing like dropping your call every 5 minutes. So who cares how the browsing and other features are when you cannot even make a flippin call.

Blackberry's can not do HTML e-mails properly at all (all of them), I have spent 8+ hours on the phone with verizon and Blackberry only to find out this is all we get!!
Most of the HTML email is like a jigsaw puzzle's, or you can not enlarge the HTML email to see it!!
If I wanted to send love text email, I would subscribe to texting and not pay the 30 for data.
Lots of people do not use blackberry's to their full DATA potential (or even data potential), My iTouch gets all my HTML emails properly (iTouch is just like an iPhone without the phone, gps, and camera) and that came out 3 years ago and the storm just came out 5 months ago and Blackberry can not do this simple thing right!!!

Also as of now if I delete a hotmail email off the computer it will not delete off the blackberry, it does delete (most of the time, not all the time) from the Blackberry then it usually will in hotmail (my coworker has cox and seems to have the same problem)!

These phones are WAY OVER HYPED, There is nothing to day that can even come close to what the iPhone can do (and can do properly)!!!!! I would get an iPhone today if Verizon had it!!!

Please NO sarcasm, unless you can show me how to do these simple things properly on this Storm.

I wouldn't make a choice just yet due to the fact that we don't know exactly the specs of the phone. But I would hope that the storm 2 would be the superior phone.

It'd have to be the Storm2 for me, iphone isn't my thing as the screen click has grown on me and I couldn't handle the touch only typing

iPhone is crap. I'm not leaving BB. I wll say it has a nice interface but that's where the goodness ends for me. too "toyish" for me.

Why not just get a Storm and if you want the iPhone just download a App that will make your BlackBerry identical to the iPhone. This is one reason why the Storm is better... iPhone for BlackBerry
