Thread: Unable to install OS

I don't know what is going on but I am unable to install an operating system. It is installed in my computer but somehow when connected to the DM, nothing happens. It just syncs!!

Have you tried using the LOADER from your APPLOADER FOLDER!!!

This is what you need to do.
Go to Cprogram files>common files>research in motion>apploader> delete the vendor.xml file.
After you are done there, in the same folder, double click the Loader.EXE file(thisis how you will load your OS)
The program defaults to save and back up (do not change this)
Then hit next
this will load the OS onto your device, your device will reboot several times during the process, this is normal. When it is complete your device will come back online and you will be ready to go

Yeah. I am not new at installing betas with previous blackberries. The storm however, seems to fight me all the time!
I deleted the vendor file and I used the loader. Nothing. All it lists are 3rd party applications. No OS core applications. Weird, huh?

Are you using Vista 64 bit

No. I am using Vista 32 bit

Did you uninstall the .75, disconnect from the internet? I know you said you're not new to this, but I just have to ask.

I will be offline here for about 30 minutes, when I get back we will get it installed

Are you sure you installed the OS onto your computer? Not to sound like a smartass but downloading the OS and installing the OS are two different things.

It is ok. I won't consider you a smartass. I downloaded it and installed it.

so when you use the loader app what happens? does anything launch?

When I launch the app loader, only 3rd party applications are listed. No signs of the OS.

Did you install the OS? Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

Are you using XP or Vista?

Have you read this Upgrading an OS

Are you trying to load through the DM or through Loader.exe

Using Vista. Tried both, DM and Loader.exe

Verify that the OS is there by going into control panel>add/remove and highlight the BB device software and click the info tab. Just to make sure its .109 (or whatever OS your trying to load)

it is definitely .109. I think I am updating now with the DM. This is the weirdest thing. We shall see what the result is.
