Just bought a new car and when I try to connect blackberry bluetooth to new device, it says device found (General Motors) but after typing the PIN it will not connect. Do I need to somehow "enter" the PIN? There is nothing that allows me to do this....! If this was not a compatible phone, why would it recognize General Motors? Any help please.
Have you tried to turn on the 'dial from home screen' option?

Go to the Phone by pressing the call button. Then hit the menu button and go to Options. Then go to General Options and you should see the option to turn on Dial From Home Screen.
There was no option to Dial from Home Screen.

more than understandable, I would be frustrated as well. :irked:
Is there any way, that you can input the PIN into the car - so that it recognizes the berry? I think, the car has to recognize the berry not vice versa, is there any "Approve Device Button" in your car?
by the way, what is the OS of your berry?
(hold return key and tap not click: top left - top right - top left - top right on the screen)
If I can interject for one second here. try putting your car into pairing mode, then on the berry go into bluetooth setup>search>then when it finds the car click on it then the passkey should be in your owners manual or may be 0000 or 9999, or 000000
and what is the pin number you are using?
Would the OS be a series of numbers? I got the screen up but could not identify OS.
A thought.....I wonder if I need to activate the ONSTAR calling system of my vehicle in order for the bluetooth to recognize the pin and discover my phone? My Blackberry will use the onstar phone application... I may go try that.

I set up my 9530 with a new GM car just a couple of weeks ago. Once you enter the PIN, press the Return/Enter key on the very bottom right of the on-screen number pad (below the # key). Once you do that, the connection should be pretty immediate. Let us know if that works!
2 other things:
1) Posting the PIN here will not help (in this case), as I'm pretty sure the car generates a new one on each pairing.
2) To quickly see your OS version, dial #HELP* and press Send. This gives you your phone's Status screen. You can see your OS version # under "Device Software Version".
heyNull....that might be just what finally connected it for me.....I was pressing buttons trying to find how to enter the PIN number from the vehicle...always thought that lower right red button was for BACK.....anyhows....I have Bluetooth connection now. THANKS
