To do with your signal most likely, when I have lame signal I get this IO error.

To be honest the Youtube app isnt great. It doesnt have a big cache, so basically rewinding videos doesnt really work.

For in-browser playing hopefully we will see something now the webkit browser is (supposedly) being worked on, and adobe did that official 'we like smartphones but we dont like apple' for the media thing...

However, if the bb browser supported HTML5 (does it anyone?) ive read that theres a way to make every youtube vid into HTML5 on the fly and play in the browser

Thumbs up HQ Videos in Youtube for BB OS7

In your BB Browser > visit youtube[dot]com (*not mobile site) and sign in with your Google ID. Close the window.

Do a Google search for 'Youtube HTML5' and follow the first link (youtube[dot]com/html5). Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link 'Join the HTML5 Trial'. Close the Browser.

Now visit youtube[dot]com (*not mobile site) and search for your videos... Give it a second to load and click maximize button and watch video in HQ and Fullscreen.

*Any video with flash advertisements will not work (video will ask for flash)
*Make sure to login to Google Account settings from a Desktop and edit 'Video playback' settings for your account.
*If a particular video does not load... sometimes playing the same video from another user works.
*Follow the same steps for HTML5 to enable on your desktop so that your account is synced.
    *Video control features work well.
*However, to exit from full screen... Do not hit return key or else you will go back a page. Instead use the cursor to click on 'Fullscreen' button at bottom right to exit view.
*Video sharing feature to facebook, twitter, etc. also works well.

I use 3g network and it works perfect.
