Thread: will tmobile users ever get to use the newer Os's?

I have the 9530, and i LOVE how fast the newer OS's are. i cant use the storm on the slower choppy OS's. i have tried alot of the hybrids and i am just no where near as happy with them as the newer ones, but i get the dreaded "no circuit no channel" error. Will this ever be fixed you think?

also, does anyone use there storms on tmoible even with the no circuit error? i was thinking of doing it. all i would not have is the "phone" part, which i dont use alot any way. just wondering....

I have not heard anyone saying that they have tried. I have to tell you I doubt that will every be purposely fixed. Because of the fact the phone is not made for T-mobile so they dont test it on that network. They test it on the networks that sell the phone.

but do you think it will be "fixed" by a hybrid? i wish it was just as easy as swapping radio files

I dont think it can be. Because the radio file is what is causing it, and none of the working radio files are not compatible with the newer os java. I know not what you wanted to hear.. they call me the dream crusher lmao

aww man that sucks...i really wanted to keep this storm and use it, but i cant use it with the latest Hybrids that work, its way to slow for me compared....man that sucks.

will the storm2 work on the newer OS's? with tmoible...or is it the same situation?

I cant 100% confirm or deny as I havent heard. I would assume it would be the same problem.

whats the latest radio that will work with the 5.0 os's?

yeah, well that is the problem...i think that it runs too slow on 4.7. BUT i must say, i have onlly used the 4.7.x.167.

is there a better, faster Os 4.7??

umm I dont think so, I dont know the buikld number that still worked have you tried straight 5.0.0.140?

yes.. not as fast as .328 but memory was great, and everything worked well.. just no flick scrolling I think. Did you try 5.0.0.230? that one i dont think worked but you could try because I dotn know for sure

I dont remember if it wsa for the 9530 or just the 9500

im running my storm on tmo with 5.0.0.328

only problem i have so far is that i cant use the youmail app...

I had that no circuit problem with both my 9500 and my 9520 on TMO when running OS 5.0. Finally the .402 leaked versions for these phones fixed my voice problems on TMO.

I guess you will have to wait until a 9530 version leaks. YouMail also works on both phones.

I just got the Storm 2 4 days ago and switched to Verizon from T-Mobile----I never had any issues with the 9530 and the no circuit/channel error. I ran every OS and BBC Hybrid available and never once had that issue. My conclusion is simply bad luck! I dunno, I'll never understand that error message. My Storm never had any issues on T-Mobile with that error. Sorry for your bad luck there.

All I can say is now it works for me

5.0.0.419 Fixed that problem i think.. cause i "haven't" had the problem appear on my phone for a while after the upgrade
