Thread: 2 Contacts files - How to remove one?

Hi BBOS folks!

Could some kind member assist me if you can. I just did a device restore via DM and now have 2 Contacts files and thus 2ea. of my contacts now displaying. I have tried a few different ways to delete one of files to no avail.

Is there any way to recover with out deleting each dupe record? If it helps, I am on BES sync. for all BUT Contacts. I sync. contacts from my desktop Outlook .pst

you could (on your computer) delete the duplicate and sync it back to blackberry. it would be easier to delete on the computer than the bb. how many contacts are there?

Or you could restore the device agian, prompt it to not restore the contacts, then sync with outlook after the resore process.

Here is what I ended up doing:

Went into DM - Backup and Restore - Advanced

Listed under device data bases was "Address Book" and "Address Book - All". I highlighted the Address Book - All DB and clicked "Clear". This cleared the entire contacts list on my device (no contacts showing) and then I re-sync'ed back to my device.
